Everything keeps getting worse
What can we do about it? We donate, vote, and call our representatives. When that doesn’t work, we make signs and take to the streets - but everything keeps falling apart. Stop pretending that any of this is normal, healthy, or okay.
WE ALL KNOW THAT IT’S CRAZY.
The people of our city have no measurable way to guide our government outside of the election cycle. Every time we vote for someone, we participate in a faith based exercise because every step of the policy making process is structured so that we are kept out of it. This is a serious problem for all of us, regardless of our political differences:
We continue to operate under the delusion that 9 people are capable of knowing what is best for 755,000 - with no way to hold them accountable after election.
a healthy city is our responsibility
We need to understand the limits of the process we have inherited - public policy is drafted and voted on by people who are most often not affected by it while the people who are, cannot contribute to the conversation which creates it. This is how we end up with bad policy:
WE ELECT PEOPLE WITHOUT EXPERIENCE TO DECIDE FOR THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCE.
We are facing a total restructuring of our economy within the next 3 years as AI replaces entire industries and social unrest continues to flood our streets. Are you confident that our council can handle this? If you have any doubts, it’s time to do something right here and now - the only space and time anything ever actually happens.
MODERN PROBLEMS REQUIRE MODERN SOLUTIONS
In the last 20 years, the only thing that has outstripped inflation is our rate of technological development. People everywhere are already using online platforms and digital tools to educate and organize themselves around solutions to our modern problems. It’s time to bring that energy to city hall.
OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS NEED ALL THE HELP THEY CAN GET.
We are on the verge of a great social transformation as our evolution demands that we reimagine what human is, does, and is capable of. As everything falls apart, we must plan how to put everything back together.
Do you really want this conversation to happen while you’re at work?
