My name is Mia jacobson

I am 37 years old, a third generation West-Seattleite, a third generation union Longshoreman, and a single mother of 3. I was born in the house that I’m raising kids in, a house my parents could afford with a single income, and one that I cannot afford, working the same job my father did.

I spent nearly 5 years attempting to enter the local legislative process as a private citizen and found it systemically impossible to do so.

In our current process, public comment is structurally performative:

  • Even if a committee meeting is open to the public, every comment opportunity is limited to 2 minutes and rigidly controlled by a preset agenda.

  • Representatives are not required to respond to any comment made. This means that if a council member feels any comment is irrelevant, or if they not like what is being said - the commenter is escorted out of the room.

Our government is not legally required to listen to us during any step of the policy making process.

This is a serious problem for all of us - regardless of our political differences. The only way

I am running a Rabbit Campaign to disrupt the social hypnosis that what we are doing is working. I don’t need your money - the city of Seattle needs your participation. Because election will only open the doors to city hall, we have to walk through them on our own.

IT’S TIME TO LEAVE THE STREETS AND FLOOD OUR COUNCIL CHAMBERS.

EXPECT CHANGE - go down the rabbit hole, do something now, run for office, go to meetings, promote the campaign question expectations by

COLLABORATION - use both ears, listen to both sides, participate, looking at evidence before argument, use rabbit on your own stuff

A NEW BEGINNING - explore wonderland, use rabbit, to get together, celebrate, new frame - make teams

  • It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
